  18. Sir this was regarding my mutual fund investment (3 Lacs ) with profit of around 10% . Can I make a position using Call Options and book the profit in mutual fund . So that my money is free and with nominal 6% interest (i.e. 1500/- per month aprrox.) I can buy Feb / March Calls . So that I do not miss out the upper Rally in coming months . This way my capital and profit will also be freezed . Please advice .

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi Sonu, First you need to decide whether you want to invest in the stock market for long term or short term. In case you decide for long term, then continue with your sip in mutual funds and forget about hedging as hedging costs are high and would bite into your long term profits. If your outlook is for short term book profits in your mutual funds and switch to short term trading on select high beta scrips. Always remember, its impossible to time the markets, so do not buy calls and hold hoping for a rally. Enter calls or puts only after detailed analysis with proper risk management techniques.
